14 DAYS TOUR TO GHANA

DAY 1: ARRIVAL
You will be met on arrival by our Guide and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight in Accra

DAY 2: ACCRA – ELMINA
Depart Accra for Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana. On arrival we will visit Cape Coast Castle which was built by the British in 1667 for a guided tour to reminisce the cruel past of the transatlantic slave trade. We will have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch we will continue to Elmina where we will have another guided tour of the Elmina Castle which is the oldest castle built by the Portuguese in 1482
Overnight in Elmina. .

DAY 2: ELMINA
Today’s tour will take us to the Kakum National Park where we will experience and enjoy a walk on the Canopy walk way, the only one of its kind in Africa and the highest among the only three in the world. We will spend most of the day in this rain forest.

DAY 3: ELMINA – KUMASI
We will depart for Kumasi after breakfast. Enroute we will pass through Obuasi, the town where gold is mined. Our first point of visit on arriving in Kumasi will be Manhyia Palace Museum which is a replica of the Palace of the King of the Ashanti’s where we will also see effigies of old Kings, Prempeh II Museum, Okomfo Anokye Sword site.
Check into our hotel after visiting these interesting places.
Overnight at Kumasi.

DAY 4: KUMASI
In the morning we take a tour of the three craft villages starting from Ahwiaa where you will see skilled woodcarvers at work, Ntonso which is home of the traditional Adinkra clothing. Have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch continue to Bonwire where the famous Kente is woven on traditional looms. Overnight in Kumasi.

DAY 5: KUMASI – LAKE BOSOMTWI – KUMASI
This day’s tour will take us to Lake Bosomtwi which was created by a falling meteorite centuries ago. We will take a boat ride on the lake. Most of the day will be spent here. Return to Kumasi after this tour.

DAY 6: KUMASI – BUABENG FIEMA.
Depart Kumasi for Buabeng Fiema in the Brong Ahafo region. We will visit the Buabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary on arrival where we will see different kinds of monkeys. The monkeys are humanly friendly. After this tour we will continue to the Kintampo Water falls.
Overnight in Techiman.

DAY 7: TECHIMAN – MOLE
Depart Techiman in the morning after breakfast to Mole in the Northern Region. Enroute we will visit the Larabanga Mosque which stands as the oldest Mosque in Ghana built with traditional building materials. We will visit the Tamale market after which we will continue to Mole National Park.

DAY 8: MOLE
We will proceed on an early morning game viewing trip in the Mole game park. En route, we will use paths that expose us to the ancestral art of tracking and approaching animals silently. Wildlife to be encountered in Mole Game Park includes antelopes, warthogs, baboons, blue and black Columbus, elephants, buffalo, the occasional lion, and scads of leopards, hippos and hyenas. Return to Motel. Overnight in Mole Motel.

DAY 9: MOLE – KUMASI
Depart Mole game reserve for Kumasi. The rest of the day will be at leisure.

DAY 10: KUMASI
After breakfast we will tour the city of Kumasi during which we will visit places such as the Kejetia market which is the largest market in the whole of West Africa. We will also visit the Military Museum.
Overnight in Kumasi.

DAY 11: KUMASI – KOFORIDUA
After breakfast we shall travel from Kumasi to Koforidua in the Eastern region of Ghana. We will check into our hotel on arrival after which we will take a tour of the beads market in Koforidua at the Jackson Park which is only on Thursdays.

DAY 12: KOFORIDUA – AKOSOMBO
Depart Koforidua for Akosombo. We will have a guided tour of the hydro-electric dam on arrival. The Akosombo dam is situated on the 400km long (North – South) Volta Lake, one of the largest man made lakes in the world covering an area of 8502 km square.
Overnight in Akosombo

DAY 13: AKOSOMBO
We will leave our hotel in the morning to join the Dodi Cruise Ship (A passenger cruise ship) to the Dodi Island, one of the greatest landmarks in Ghana. Return to Akosombo late in the afternoon.
Overnight in Akosombo.

DAY 14: AKOSOMBO – ACCRA
Return to Accra in the morning. On arrival we will visit the Makola market where we will experience a typical African market atmosphere.

You will be transferred to the airport this evening for your flight back home.
